39 Artists where selected to participate in this very exciting opportunity, I am honored to be among them.

 “Best of 2007”

I was surprised to have three of the “Mindscapes” series accepted for this exhibition of the Ohio designer craftsmen.

And then “Introspection, Contemplation, & Deliberation” received the Challenge Award for Excellence.

An extraordinary honor considering all of the very impressive mixed media work included in the show.

Quilt National 07

Opening weekend was a wonderful experience! What a crowd Friday night well over 450 people in attendance.

It was a pleasure and honor to have been awarded the Heartland Prize at the Banquet Friday night.

Saturday morning after brunch, there was more opportunity to see the exhibit and talk to some of the artists;

Here I am talking with Carol Elrod. Many detail shots were taken of my quilt.

My quilt “Mindscapes – Enthusiasm” is to the left of Beth Carney’s “Structured Chaos #14”.

October 2006

Big News is the reward for working 40-70 hours a week over these past 10 months.

Since June I have made 5 quilts in a new abstract series, 2 small pieces and 3 large quilts.

I finished just in time to enter the 3 large abstract quilts in Quilt National 07.

It was so exciting to receive the “You are in!” e-mail, can’t wait to hear who else got in.

This is after I received a very special call from Karey Bresenhan of Quilts Inc. with the astonishing news that

my Quilt “Chance Encounter!” has been awarded one of the Top Seven Awards In the 2006 IQA show!

Since this includes a trip for me to Quilt Festival, I’ve invited my mom to go with me.

She’s not a quilter and has never been to a quilt show so it will be quite an experience for her.

July 2006

Handiquilter has generously loaned me an HQ-16 with a sit down table set up!

It arrived in May and the local sales rep, Dave Sandritter of Quilt Trends in Columbus OH set it up for me.

I spent about 2 weeks getting to know the machine and trying all the various threads I love to use.

After quilting some sample squares and three small quilts I was ready to tackle my new large quilt.

The Quilt Top measured 98” wide by 82” high before quilting.  Now I have been quilting with my Janome 6500,

But even with 9” under the machine head, I wasn’t looking forward to quilting this large quilt.

Oh, such joy to have so much space for free motion quilting,

November 2005

It was such a great honor to have received the Master Award for innovative artistry

sponsored by Maywood Studio at the IQA show during the 2005 Quilt festival in Houston, TX.

What an experience, my mom spent a week with the girls so my husband could join me in all the fun!

He finally had an opportunity to see all the fabulous quilts from around the world at the show.
